A practice based on experience

A practice based on experience

Originating from the Lamy & Aoun practice, Via Ostéo continues a tradition of clinical excellence built over more than twenty years, with a team united by a shared approach to care: attentiveness, precision, and gentleness.

Procedure

The osteopath will ask you a few specific questions to understand your situation or that of your child and to tailor the treatment plan to your individual needs (medical history).

A clinical and osteopathic examination will then be conducted to guide the treatment and ensure its appropriateness.

Duration and Rates

  • Consultations typically last between 30 and 50 minutes. Fees average between CHF 113 and CHF 144.

Payment

Our billing is handled by Caisse des Médecins. You pay for your appointment and then claim reimbursement from your insurer using the documentation we provide. You can also pay at the clinic, in cash or by card.

Osteopathic care is covered by supplementary insurance rather than Swiss compulsory basic health insurance (LAMal), so we cannot submit invoices directly to insurers. The same payment process applies if you have reported an accident to your insurer: you pay for the appointment and are then reimbursed according to your policy.

Insurance and reimbursement

Osteopathic treatment is generally covered by supplementary health insurance policies that include cover for alternative or natural medicine.

Our practitioners are recognised by major insurers through RME, ASCA and EGK. If you are insured with Visana or Sympany, please contact us directly, as these insurers have specific reimbursement requirements.

Please check with your insurer to confirm what your policy covers and how much you can claim.

Frequently asked questions

Osteopathic care is available to people of all ages, from newborns to older adults. It may help with muscle and joint pain or certain problems affecting how the body functions, and provide support during pregnancy or after childbirth. A clinical assessment helps determine whether osteopathic care is appropriate for you.

The two professions complement each other. An osteopath carries out a comprehensive assessment to understand what may be causing your symptoms and tailors treatment to your needs. A physiotherapist focuses particularly on rehabilitation, muscle strengthening and restoring movement and function, for example after an injury or surgery, or when managing certain conditions. Depending on your needs, your care may combine both approaches.

Each appointment begins with a conversation and a clinical examination to understand your concerns. If osteopathic care is appropriate, treatment is tailored to your needs and overall health. Where helpful, we may also offer advice or suggest exercises.

Not necessarily. At Via Osteo, we favour gentle techniques. In the vast majority of cases, these allow us to achieve the treatment goals without a quick thrust movement to a joint. If this type of manipulation could be helpful, we will discuss it with you first.

The number of appointments varies. Some concerns can be addressed in a single appointment, while others may need follow-up care. We aim to recommend only as many appointments as are appropriate for your needs and how you respond to treatment.

Yes. Caring for babies, children and pregnant women has been central to our practice for many years. This experience has shaped an individual approach to each stage of development, with an emphasis on gentle techniques. Every appointment begins with a clinical assessment to check that osteopathic care is appropriate.

Our practitioners are recognised by major supplementary health insurers through RME, ASCA and EGK. Visana and Sympany have specific reimbursement requirements. Please contact us if you have any questions about your cover.
